What is D.O.T.?

D.O.T. is the abbreviation for the Department of Transportation.
All of our D.O.T. approved turn signals are tested by an authorized testing laboratory based on the regulations and test procedures required by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108
regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,
Enforcement Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance, Washington D.C.

D.O.T. testing includes the following tests:

1.)Photometric Test (SAE J588). 2.)Mechanical Tests (SAE J575) which includes: Vibration tests, Moisture tests, Dust tests, Corrosion tests, Warpage tests.
3.)Color Test (SAE J578) 4.)Material Inspection

All of the D.O.T. approved turn signals have passed all of these requirements and are permitted to use the "SAE" mark and number on the lens.

Our D.O.T. approved taillights and signal have the "SAE" mark where noted.

* Most Headlights & Some Taillights are no longer sold each (ala carte)
Package sales only, but there are exceptions.
IE: example headlight, taillight, stator and 12v ac regulatror.
