State List
# 28 NV =
Nevada
Here's what Nevada requires (note
that this is from the DMV in Las Vegas):
First off, the state requires that
a state certified mechanic inspect the brakes and steering
and sign off on the inspection form available at any
Nevada DMV. Once that is done, you can take your bike to a
DMV office with an inspection office and they will check for
the following:
Headlight;
the bonus is that in Nevada that there is no requirement
that it be hi/lo beam
Tail Lamp;
must be red and visible from 500 feet
Stop Lamp;
unfortunately, a switch for each of the front & back
brake lever/pedal so that either/both will activate the
light
Turn Signals (front &
rear);
must be "as widely spaced as practicable"
Horn;
must be audible from 200 feet
Mirrors;
need both a left and right and each must be at least 3" in
diameter and mounted to the handlebars
Muffler;
"must be in good working condition"
Fenders; duh
Reflector (rear);
must be visible - doesn't specify a size
Brakes;
has to have both front and rear - duh again
